I'm striking the ball well, I'm just not scoring. And I attribute that to the fact that I haven't been able to play much lately. But my schedule is calming down so I hope to start "threatening" again soon.

I was impressed with my 88 in the wet, soggy conditions. Also, the fact I can rebound from +9 thru 5 start speaks volumes about my mental game. The round could easily have gotten away from me. Despite the initial eyeball test, this was a good round.

18 was the most frustrating pick-up. I was on a roll. I striped my driver off the tee and hit a decent 3-wood to put me 160-yards out. In a fairly strong head wind, I decided to choke down on a 6-iron and swing easy. The result was a hook from hell that went long and left (hitting the cart path didn't help either). What a @#$% way to end a round.

It feels good. Minus hole 12 yesterday, I played well. 18 was a "whatever" hole. I hit a bomb of a drive (~300), which left me 300 to a back pin. I rarely have 300 or less into 18 so I hit driver off the deck for sh!ts and giggles. The ball went straight right onto the tennis courts -- hence the 9.

Thanks guys! Believe it or not I struck the ball well en route to my 88 yesterday. The difference was I put myself into the right position off the tee today. You'll get your sub par round soon enough BX! I might do it first though :)

Thanks! Not technically. It was a par 70 so I shot six over. My 77 (+5) is still my best. But the fact I did it on a course I'm not familiar with makes it more impressive.

Thanks guys. I went to the 19th Hole for a couple beers to cool off and then went back to the scene of the crime 16-18. I went birdie, double, par. Different day I break 80...

I'd like to think it wasn't all related to the pressure of potentially breaking 80, but I was definitely thinking about 80 a lot going into the last three holes. I will say the closing holes at Deerfield are considered by some as the "toughest closing holes in the state".
