Mid 70's, sunny and very little wind. Fairways firm and greens unusually quick for this course. Joined a Japanese family (Dad [Matsu], Mom, 11-12 year old son). None of them were particularly good, having only played five 9-hole rounds previously. The course was busy and I had to teach Meigumai (sp) that she needed to drive her cart near her ball and not stop 15 yards short and walk to it. Then directed traffic near the green. Taught junior not to walk in everyone's line. Told Matsu to stop running everywhere since we were keeping up with the group in front. Fun seeing the pure enjoyment they got from playing golf and hitting a good shot. Matsu and his son were pretty pleased when each got a par. Meigumai was really getting into the whole experience. Once I realized she liked to replace the flagstick at the end of the hole, I always handed her the flag.
Of course, it was all a bit distracting and my putting suffered as I went into hurry-up mode. Still, a nice afternoon.
