Started at 70°, overcast skies with a threat of rain (60%) and a 6 mph breeze. We arranged this round on a country club since our course is being used for a high school tournament, but I was not prepared for what I found--the most perfect greens I have EVER played on! They had recently been sanded but there was absolutely no trace of it except that your ball picked up some sand grains on damp greens! At first I thought that the putting green was carpeted, but ALL the greens were magnificent! They were so perfect that you were nearly afraid just to walk on them! BEST EVER!!! That being said, I didn't putt particularly well, which I attribute to being in awe of the greens. The tees were forward enough that it took driver out of my hand, so I was hitting different clubs (a good thing) than I was used to. The visual appearance of the greens were different than the yardage given by the SkyCaddie. Perplexing, but fun. I had a great time! Those greens!
Robert Palmer says:No, I've played this track before, maybe four or five times (GC Am Tour twice and as a guest 2-3 times), but I've NEVER seen it in this kind of shape. Before it was always kind of a "wannabe" Country Club, but now it's a REAL Country Club! I'm hard pressed to think of a time when I have seen so much grass on a course, regardless of its status, pro courses included. It was a real pleasure, let me tell you. It's now a course that idiots like me dream of.
