Started at 62°, partly cloudy skies, and a 7 mph breeze was present. I went with the express purpose of working only on my tempo and trying to maintain quiet hands through the swing. I obviously struggled with it on the outward nine, but it really proved itself on the inward half. It isn't everyday that I shoot my age, but this was special because everything seemed to mesh coming in. Length doesn't mean a thing in this game unless you are able to capitalize on it with a nifty irons game or a hot putter. Today's round reflected a hot short game and a putter when I needed it. I still have a lot of work to do, but this round proved to me that I'm on the right track. Let's hope it sticks!
