Great day. 50s and sunny. Played the blue tees, even with the cold. Just felt I was hitting the ball on the range very well, so went for the blues today. No problem.
Played with a very nice woman, Sue, who asked to join me when I caught up with her on 3rd. She took up the game in April, but was better than most women out there who've been playing for 10 years. She had a good swing, as a result of many lessons, knew the etiquette well and was not the least bit slow. I actually enjoyed playing with her and played very well myself. We hooked up with Will for the back nine.
I drove the ball well, hit my irons well and chipped well. Made lots of GIRs. Even putting was good, on the super fast greens. Most of my trouble was in the bunkers today. Was in three, two of which did not end well and resulted in two of my three doubles. Made some awesome approach shots, one to 4 inches with a 7i from rough, and another under 18 inches with an 8i, both tap-in birdies. Really liking the AP3s.
Felt I played one of my best rounds of the year today, even though the score wasn't my best.
