Cold and wet. High 40s. Played whites again. Ball was dead.
Started on 2nd so as not to get behind a foursome of Asians who just teed off. Finished 2-9th, then went back and played the first. By the time I got over to the 10th, it was full again. Started the back on 13 and played through the 18th, then went back and played 10-12. Was getting dark for those final three holes and started to rush. It showed on 11th and 12th. 3 putt finish.
Driver was somewhat better. Only used 3W off the tee on 12. Hit new AP3s pretty well. Can tell the distance will be better than my AP2s when the temps get back to normal. Hitting the new 7i in cold weather a bit longer than the AP2 in warm weather. That's encouraging, but there is going to be a big gap between AP2 8i and AP3 7i. May end up playing both 7 irons and removing my AP2 8i. I can usually hit my 9i far enough to cover the low end of the 8i range. Time will tell. Making no decisions until we get back in 80 degree temps. Florida trip coming up will be informative.
Chip in bird on 5th. Should have made 2 more at least. Hit it to 7 feet or less on 7th, 10th, 13th and 18th. Couldn't drop one. Settled for pars on all.
Nice up and down par on 17th. Pulled 7i left onto side of steep incline, pin high. Flopped up to green surface then sunk a 20 foot bomb. (Yet I couldn't sink any of the four realistic birdie putts from under 7 feet.)
Looks like this may be the last in-season round/score until March, though may enter Florida scores in a couple weeks. Season ends next Tuesday and the temps are not supposed to be golf-friendly at least until midweek.
