Played with Bernie 2nd day in a row. Technically we did not play from the "blacks" as indicated. We were both complaining about where the blue tees were set up. Virtually all were set up on the black tee box. A few were on the back of the blue tee box, but overall the course played far longer than the advertised blue tees distance, now two days in a row. We estimated it played 6800 from the blues today. Far too long for us, but the whites were up on the red tee box on most holes, so we felt that was way too short. On 17th I hit 3W off the tee, playing 225. We considered playing the whites there, but when we looked to see where they were, it looked like they were at 120. Kind of annoying and set up this way since the Senior Open on Tuesday, which was set up at 6500. The white and blue markers were removed from their respective tee sections during the tournament. I guess the greenskeeper has decided to give the blue and white boxes a few days to heal, but it sucks for those of us old guys playing blues right now. Every par 3 was either 5W or 3W for both of us today: 198 yds on 6th, 185, uphill on 8th, playing about 195-200, 188 on 15th and 225 on 17th. That's unfair that all four par 3s are playing that long on any course. And all this extra demanding distance is on top of a course that is already playing extremely difficult right now. Rough is thick, greens are very fast and the pin locations seem diabolical. In the Senior Open, a gross event with all low handicappers from the best clubs in the State, the average score in the field was about 84. Some shot in the 90s and 2 were over 100. This course is playing as tough as I have seen it in my two years here.
Overall, didn't play badly, but the distance was too much making GIRs difficult. I made a few more than yesterday, but still.
