We started on #16. Things were rolling along nicely until #7, where I 3-putted. Then a good drive smacked a dead branch sticking out over the fairway, with my ball dropping straight into a pond. From there I managed to totally screw up that hole and I struggled the rest of the way with a series of bad breaks (e.g. plugged in a wet bunker, ball stops on a deep down slope, etc...). On #14 the lightning siren went off and we headed in. Eventually the heavy rains made the course unplayable and a decision was made to give us "par plus handicap strokes" on the unfinished holes. Great, the two holes I had left both went down as bogey. Some people had several "easy" holes and got par for 2-4 holes.
Weather was cool (68 degrees) and damp. Eventually is rained & stormed.
Course was soggy and sloppy. No roll. Rough was wet and tough to play from. Greens rolled very slow and we think they did not cut them that morning, or possibly longer.
