Went up to practice, but course was empty so decided to play. Felt pretty good. Tried some new swing ideas since I was playing alone. Driver was decent. Only one not-so-great 6 iron shot. Most other iron shots were good. Hitting all wedges and 9i extremely well. Distances are really consistent.
Caught 3 fairway bunkers today. On 7th, hit a bullet, but it didn't quite clear the back lip. Looked so good in the air. Resulted in difficult lie, under lip. Needed lofted club so was not able to reach green. Bogey. Then on 10th hit worst drive of day into right fairway bunker. Got 5i a touch fat and left myself short of green. Chipped to 6 feet but missed par saver. And, on 14th, hit another really good drive which I thought cleared left fairway bunker. But, it didn't. Again, got my 9i a touch fat in the sand and came up 5 yards short of green. Chipped to 6 feet past, but again, missed the par saver. Another bogey.
Shoulder not too bad, even though I have played 7 of the last 9 days, including 27 holes last Sunday. Encouraging.
May take Mare to the range tomorrow, but not planning on playing.
