Cold. 35 degrees. 12-15+ mph wind. Walked, which kept my core warm, but my ears and face were taking a beating in the cold wind. Wore FJ cold weather gloves for the first time all winter.
Drove the ball well. Nice little draw worked and gave me a few extra yards in the cold conditions. On 10, to start, drive was well past the water hazard on the right. Good thing it was straight down the fairway. Had only 50 yards to a back pin. Drove alongside the green on 11th and on 14th had only about 40 yard half swing LW to the pin. In warm weather, I would have been chipping. Was really happy with driving today, despite being all bundled up with lots of restriction. Hit lots of fairways and greens. It was a good nine holes.
Greens were aerated, rolled and heavily sanded. A bit slower than normal, but not bad. They did not break nearly as much with the sand on them. Missed a couple birdies by playing 6 inches of break, that I know is normally there, yet they didn't break a bit. Putted well, even so.
Did not tape left shoulder or take Aleve beforehand. Probably should have. Need to ice now.
