Wow! That was totally unexpected.
Played with Will and Joey.
I knew sooner or later I'd have a bad day and today was that day. Nothing went right. And I was looking so forward to playing today after hitting the ball very well yesterday and last week.
Made tons of stupid mistakes and poor swings. Actually nearly skulled a couple short iron shots. Was not sharp with irons in general and couldn't putt worth a damn. Five 3-putts. Had green speeds all screwed up. My swing was not in tempo and my problems got in my head. Will said he has never seen me that far off. I got frustrated. At least I drove the ball very good for the most part. Hit all but 3 fairways and didn't miss the other by much. All drives were good. I just didn't do much with so many great drives in perfect position. I did chip okay for the most part. I just missed a bunch of easy 4-5 foot putts.
Was starting to play better on the back half of the 2nd nine which was the front nine again today. (They are still starting us off the 10th due to aeration in process on the front in the morning.) I felt like going around again after missing a 4 foot birdie putt on 18th, but had to get home to let the dog out. So, I am frustrated right now, feeling like I was coming out of my funk, but won't know for sure until I play again. If weather cooperates, it'll be tomorrow.
Maybe I just needed to get that bad one out of the way before posting season starts. Hopefully it was just an anomaly.
