Ballstriking better today, but kept over-drawing irons. New swing is adding more draw than I am used to. I'll figure it out, but today it resulted in at least 4 or 5 missed greens to the left. Driver was pretty good. Hit solid shots all round. Best drive on 16. Baby draw, left me 9i out. Birdied the hole.
LEFT misses were my problem today (which is always better than weak right misses and is a lot more fixable):
On 1, drew 6i into left bunker.
On 2, hit driver too far left, into hazard, but got lucky and it went through and out of hazard, giving me the opportunity to make GIR. I did.
On 4, drew 6 iron left of green, past greenside bunker. Chipped from deep rough to about 6 feet, but 2-putted
On 5, Well-hit driver off tee, but into left bunker. 5i out left me 85 yards. Pulled sand wedge left of green from tough ball-well-below-my-feet lie. Chip and 2-putt. Bogey
On 6, left pin, drew 7i into water hazard. Actually hit edge of stone wall along water about pin high, and bounced in. Penalty, drop, chip to 3 feet and 1-putt bogey save.
On 8, pull drew 5i off tee near cart path, again, pin high. Pitch from under tree to about 10 ft, but 2-putt bogey.
On 10, 7i from middle of the fairway, pin high, but just left of green in thick rough. Good chip. Should have saved it, but missed putt.
On 13, drew 50* wedge approach, pin high again, into left bunker.
On 14, after longer than normal drive in fairway, easy 50* wedge over cooked by 2 yards left, pin high. Chip from left rough to 4' and saved par.
On 15, drew 7i 1 yard left of green. Chip to 4' and saved par.
On 16, after my best drive of the day (a baby draw right down the center of the fairway), had an easy 9i to a left side pin. But again, drew it more than expected. Dropped pin high on the fringe. Made the 15 foot putt for bird.
Way too many LEFT misses and consequently, missed greens. But new swing worked for the most part.
