Hot and humid. Played with Will (Ranger/Starter). Started on the back. Played okay. Was getting new swing to work better on most drives. Missed a couple, but for the most part was able to make things work with the driver. Had a fat shot on 54* approach from downhill lie and hit it into hazard on 9th (final hole) after a great drive and even better FW from rough to 80 yards out. Usually such an easy SW in from there. So pissed. Terrible ending to a so-so round.
Nice bird on 6 after watching Will come up short with his 6 iron into the wind. I had 7i in hand (it was only 141 yrds), but after seeing him come up short decided to hit 6 iron. Was right at pin but about 5 yards long. Dropped the sliding putt for bird.
Put old Titleist 910 5W in bag to replace 4W. Hit it only once, on 1st hole approach and hit it very well. Was hitting it well on range, so figured I'd give it a shot. Ended up in greenside bunker, but seeing the nice baby draw ballflight was worth the slight left miss from 190+ out. Was pin high, so it was the perfect club for the distance. I think I will continue to play it a while longer until I can figure out what the best club between my 3W and 22* hybrid will be. Encouraged by the 5W today.
