A little more pressure today. Windy, 20-25 mph gusts, steady 15-20. Tees back to normal positions. GHIN posting season underway. Greens were VERY inconsistent. Putting needs work. Two 3 putts. A bunch of two-putts that should have been one-putts.
Started on back with good drive. Hit 52* approach to 8 feet. Missed birdie putt.
Most drives were good today, considering the wind.
Got up and down from sand on 14 after hitting drive a touch left, but only 70 yards from pin. Hit SW into stiff breeze, too high. Wind blew it hard and pushed it back into bunker. Got it out to about 5 feet and made the putt.
Trouble on par 3 17th. Was playing about 160. Hit 5 iron, getting every bit of it, but yanked it well left and down the steep hill alongside the green, well past pin high. Probably about 180 from tee. Tried to pitch a 60* wedge shot, but didn't quite make the green and rolled back into the bunker. Got out and on the green, but well short of hole. 2-putt double.
On 3rd, hit second shot into hazard, but was able to play it out. Nice pitch from deep rough to about 5 feet. Saved par.
Ended up with a similar result on 9th approach. In the hazard in front of the green, but able to get a wedge on it and pitch it to about 10 feet below the hole. Unfortunately was not able to make that putt.
Could have been better, but not too upset. The wind made it tough.
