Cold. 40s. Kinda windy at times making it feel colder. Wasn't even going to play, but took a ride over to see what it was like. It didn't seem too bad in the parking lot, plus there were only a few cars there meaning I could fly around, so decided to play 9 and see how I felt after that. Was getting pretty uncomfortable and had other stuff to do so quit after 9.
Hit some nice drives. Had better rhythm than last round. Kept it up most of round. Had a few 220 yard drives in the 40 degree temps, so I was satisfied. No slices. A couple straight pulls left which didn't get me in any trouble. 12th hole got me again. Thinned a 4W into the side of the big hill before the green, then tried to flop a 60 off the steep side hill lie. Didn't make the green. Chip and 2-putt double.
On 14, hit what I thought was a MASSIVE drive. Looked like it might be 20 yards short of green in the middle of the fairway, but couldn't actually see it land. I get to where it should be and there is no ball. Must have rolled into rough. Walk up and down searching. No ball. Finally check the right greenside bunker which is pin high. Son of a bitch, there's a ball sitting right there in the middle of it. Wow, I knew I hit it good, but, wow! Get my SW and settle in, thinking "hole this for eagle." Just as I start back I notice, God dammit, it's NOT MY BALL! Of course it isn't. I can't hit it that far when it's 80 degrees outside. Wishful thinking I guess.
Finally found my ball in the left rough, 80 yards short of the green, then proceeded to pull it into the left bunker. No up and down. Bogey. Damn! Well, the fantasy was fun while it lasted.
January 2 and playing golf. No complaints.
