Snuck out of work and over to Grassy for a long lunch. Very long. Wasn't very enjoyable. Whole place is in dire need of water. Rough was hard dirt. Fairways brown. Greens still hanging in there, but lack of rain is killing the place. Their rough was always so thick and lush. Now it's like Texas desert. Won't be in a hurry to get back there until we get some heavy rain. Or more like, a few weeks of rain. I thought Oxford Greens was having a hard time without rain, but Grassy is in far worse shape.
Usually I like these greens, but had some trouble putting today. They had been aerated not too long ago, but I don't think it affected too many putts. They just weren't rolling as true as I remember them.
Found my driver swing later in the round, but it was too little too late. Hit great drives on 16 and 18. Chipped long a number of times. Partly due to playing a Wilson Duo rather than my trusty Pro V. Also because the ground was like concrete. Balls would not check.
