We started on number 2 - part of a shot gun start.
Cold & windy. Overcast and at most 50 degrees during the entire round. At least a one club wind and sometimes 2. Add to that the temperature and the course played long.
Rough very healthy. Fairways firm and allowed some decent roll. The problem is that the fairways are very rolling and sloped side to side so many decent drives down the middle end up in the rough. Greens were slow and bumpy.
I struggled all day. The round took 6 hours. The first hole I hit a nice shot to about 20 feet. Down hill so I was cautious ... and left it 7 feet short. Proceeded to 3 putt and things remained shakey.
Cart partner was a huge jerk. About the 3rd hole he hit one into the trees but refused to hit a provisional. After searching 5 minutes back to the tee while we waited. He did the same thing the next hole only heaved his driver 40 yards forward of the tee. So we waited for him to retrieve it. Then we drive up, couldn't find the ball and were forced to wait for him to re-tee again. He hit that into the woods, tossed his club. When he finally returned he asked what the max score was. Our group uses 10. Okay, put him down for a 10. After that he just cussed & swore a steady stream. Bitched about the slow play, the course, the other players, blah blah blah. I thought he would quit after 8 holes (when we made the turn) but NO, he had to subject me to another 3+ hours of his sparkling personality.
Grrrrr!
CeeBee says:Decent round on a crappy weather day. Add lousy company to the mix and presto. No fun.
