First day at Oxford Greens. Finally. Played with Keith, Ben, and Richie P. Was still pretty sick from this bad cold, but wasn't going to miss such a great day, so pushed through it. About 52 degrees and sunny. Started well with a nice up and down par then a 2-putt par on 2nd. 3-putted 3rd for double. Kept the driver in play most of the day. A couple poor iron approach shots hurt an otherwise good front. Hernia issue stayed in check throughout the front. Only missed one fairway on back (15), but started to feel hernia discomfort by 11 or 12 and noticed I was having trouble finishing some swings as a result. Even so, did not play too poorly. Only bad hole was on 17 after a really good drive, I chunked a 3H right into the mid-fairway bunker. Then tried to reach from the bunker with 6 iron, but blasted it into the lip...and back into the bunker, now just under the lip. Only play was to blast out with 56*, about 20 yards. Then hit 9i just a touch too far right, caught the ridge on the right of the green and into the greenside bunker. 60* wedge out to about 7' but lipped out the putt.
Not a bad round, but had 4 or 5 shots that were not acceptable.
