Rain stopped about noon. Temp went up to near 50 so went out and walked nine with my push cart. Course was closed to riding carts due to wetness. Actually played fairly well. Had a couple bad breaks and missed a couple putts by less than an inch. Felt pretty good overall though. Driver was under control again all day. Ran into a Callaway rep before the round who gave me a sleeve of the new HEX Black to try out. So I did. Nice ball. Got lots of spin around the greens and seemed to be pretty long off the tee, though with the cold conditions it was difficult to tell for sure. I did hit one about 230 that I measured with my rangefinder. Seemed pretty good considering the cold. Now that I have finally settled on the new Titleist NXT Tour S and the PRO V1x as my two regular balls, with the Bridgestone B330RXS and E5s as my back-ups,I don't want to add another ball to the mix, but it did seem to be a very good ball.
After a good final round on my trip last week, continuing the decent play here in CT in crappy conditions today helped to validate my good score last week. It wasn't a fluke. I am playing pretty well. Once the conditions get better, I expect to have a good season.
