Went out about 5 pm. Course was still pretty busy, so snuck into an opening on 10th. Hit fabulous drive, then 5w, then 52* wedge to 10 ft. for GIR. Missed birdie putt, but it felt great to be back on my home course. On 11, another great drive and another good approach, but rolled off back of green less than 1 ft., into rough. Still felt good. Putted with much more confidence than yesterday at Woodbridge. Felt like that terrible day was just a bad dream. Anyway, ran into a group on 12. 13 was full too. So decided at this late hour, the front might be freed up. Went to 1st with hopes of getting in at least a full 9. I did, but even got backed up there by the time I got to 5th. Played 1000 percent better than yesterday. But due to the back up, I started hitting multiple balls to pass the time, so as not to pressure the group in front. Though I only kept score with my first ball, all the practice balls stop me from posting as a standard regulation round. Hence to P notation on this round. Shot of the day....well there was no single shot, but there were 5 great drives, all at least 20 yards longer than my typical great drive. On 10th, flew it over the ridge and got an extra 80 -100 yards, totaling around 280. Then on 3rd, 6th, 7th, and 8th hit perfect drives as well, with plenty of extra distance. Really felt good. Also on the list was my PW approach on 8 to 8 ft. Coolest shot of the day was a punch draw 6 iron on the 5th from behind the trees. Hit it through and around trees and landed it just short of the green. I have been practicing that little punch draw and it has now paid off two days in a row. Very satisfying. Also, a nice chip on 1st would have gone in w/o pin in, but instead, hit it and bounce a few inches away for tap-in.
Though I only played 11 holes, it was a good outing, particularly after yesterday's debacle.
