Very cold and extremely windy. Below freezing wind chill. Blowing at gale force at times. Dressed properly for it all today. Pointless keeping stats. Hence nothing on the card. 2-3 club wind. Was hitting 7 iron into 9 iron distances against the wind. Hybrid was like 6 iron. Played long par fours as if they were par 5s. Considering the conditions, played pretty well. Got around in 2 hours 15 minutes. I was one of only a handful of nuts out there today.
Hit driver pretty well all day, but of course, choked on 15 and put it into right hazard. Took penalty, then too windy to go for green. Lay up with 9 iron instead, then PW to 10 feet. Couldn't save bogey.
Almost aced 16. Hit 6 iron dead at pin. Landed two feet in front and bounce once, hitting the pin very low and bouncing a foot away. Settled for tap-in bird. Probably for the best. No one would have been there to see it if it went in off the tee. That totals four times in the last two years I have hit the pin on a par 3, none of which have gone in. One of these days...
Glad I played. Now 40 degree days with no wind might seem like a piece of cake as we head into winter.
