Wasn't planning to play, just went up to practice. But the place was quiet and I couldn't resist a quick nine. Played from the blues. Hernia didn't like it, but I got through it, with a lot of discomfort. Drove the ball fairly well for the most part. Decided to try switching out my 3H with a 5W and loved the result. Hit my 2nd shot on 3rd 223 yards with 5W, from the fairway, uphill leaving me 128 after teeing off from blue tees which were back. Made GIR/par. I don't know if I have ever hit my 5W 223 yards, let alone uphill, but I measured it with GPS, because I knew it was an awesomely long shot. I have a feeling the 4W is coming out of the bag and the 5W is going back in for awhile, particularly if I can hit it that well from the fairway. (New Adams Super LS XTD 17* also due to go into bag most likely this week.) Continued working on new swing change with good results. Also, moved off the ball an extra 1/2 inch at address and it seemed to help with pulling left.
Needed lots of ice when I got home, both hernia and right shoulder. Better take a couple days off.
