Played with Ben. Richie and Keith joined us for 9 after playing in the Member/Member in the morning. I had a very good front until a screw up at the ninth. Pulled my hybrid way left into the deep stuff, up against the woods. Was able to get it out, but there was no room to swing enough to get the ball up to the green level. Flopped on, but long, then two-putted for double. Started the back with another double after a good drive, great hybrid 2nd shot, and then screwed up the PW approach by misjudging the wind and came up just a yard short of where I wanted to land it, hitting just at the top of the bunker and falling back in. Weak shot out left me with another chip for 5, then a 2-putt for back to back doubles. Got things back on track until the 17th when my second shot just caught the top of the left fairway bunker and fell back in, right up against the front wall. Tried to just get out with lofted iron, but caught the lip and fell back in. Ended up with the 3rd and final double of the round. Overall, hit the ball well. Two of the doubles were a result of some weak bunker play, which up until today has been pretty good of late otherwise. The 3rd double was just a consequence of a pulled, yet well hit tee shot leaving me a virtual unplayable lie. Had I taken the penalty, I doubt I would have been able to get up and down for bogey, but in hind sight, I probably should have taken that route. At least I might have had a chance. Putting and chipping was very good again. Drove the ball well all day.
