Played with Ben and Richie.A single, James, joined us on 3rd for the rest of the way. Played pretty well for the most part. No real bad shots, but a few got me in trouble. Pulled 24* hybrid off tee into water on 2nd. Hit it very well otherwise. Penalty drop. Double. Birdied 3rd with chip in from pin high, just off green. Played my old 24* Nike CPR today and really liked it. May keep it in the bag for awhile. Unfortunately, hit it long a couple times. Used it on 9th for 178 yard shot off tee. Choked down an inch and hit it pin high, but bounced into bunker. Got up and down. Used it again out of crap on right side of cart path on 11th after hitting tree with 4W off tee. Hit it perfectly, though had no clear shot to green so had to take it left of greenside bunkers. Great distance. On 18, after great drive, rolled through fairway into deep rough. Had 168 to pin and figured coming out of the rough, it might be the right club. Hit it dead nuts and got 180+ out of it. Hit it straight at pin, but flew it 10 yards past, one bounce and off the green, down the hill and across the cart path under some shrubs. Had no swing, so punched it out, then a 60 degree and two putts for double. Even so, was thrilled with the way I hit that hybrid on the approach. I'll just need to get used to the distance. Played the front pretty well. The back, I did not play poorly, just had some bad breaks and a penalty. Also, sharpened up wedges before the round and ended up spinning back on a couple approach shots on which I expected to get 10 yards release.
