Worst round of the year, by far! Played with Keith, Ben and a single who joined us, Randy. Had a feeling it was going to be a tough day while on the range prior to the round. Timing was way off. It continued into the round. Many penalties today due to bad drives. Even some good tee shots got me in trouble. Eg., hit 5H off tee on 2nd. Wind was in face and pin was at 175. Flew it straight on line at pin, but 25 yards long into water! That sort of set the tone for the rest of the round. Was a little off on every part of my game which added up to a lot of poor results. Most penalties ever in a round. Stroke and distance, hazards, unplayables, etc. You name the penalty, I probably had one in this round. Stopped tracking stats after the 3rd or 4th hole out of disgust. Even those holes on which I didn't have much trouble getting to the green, I couldn't drop a putt to save my ass. My play was embarrassing today. Literally. It took me until the 14th hole to finally make a par and that was after a popped up drive leaving me about 215 yards to the hole. Best shot of the day was my 3H approach from there, to 15 ft. It felt good and helped to right the ship a little. However, the round was nearly over. I could feel my timing coming back. By the 18th, I was not ready to give up and went out and played another 9 to get some satisfaction for the day. It worked. By the end of that nine, my confidence was coming back.
