Wasn't planning to play, just went up to course to work on driver issues on range. Tried something in my set up and started blasting the ball long and straight. Took a look over at the empty first tee and it called my name. I quick got a cart and tee off about 7:10 pm. Could tell on the range that I was getting good distance with this set up, so decided to play the blue tees. Really noticed a big difference in the quality of my drives all round. Tees were back, but it didn't matter. My drives were making up the difference. I need to bottle this new move. Wonder how long it will work. Even the trouble I got in on the 8th off the tee was more bad luck than a bad drive. Hit it very well actually, but didn't quite clear the bunker on the left side of fairway and got caught up under the lip. Had it cleared the lip by 6 inches, I likely would have gotten another 50 yards out of it. Unfortunately, tried to hit a very high blast out with a hybrid, but it went extremely high due to the lie angle, right into the other fairway bunker 150 yards ahead. That also ended under the lip with my only choice to wedge it out. Then hit my 4th from 165 out, on---and over---the green, and down into the collection area on the right. Pitched up decently with 60*, but 2-putted for double. Did not play the hole poorly, just lots of bad luck. Hit drive off 6 to 80 yards out, then nice sand wedge to 12 ft. Missed bird by an inch. Bugs were buzzing my head while standing over the putt, but I tried not to let it affect me. It did, especially the one that flew in my ear in the middle of my stroke! On 7th, hit another great drive, then missed right on approach with 5h. Pitched with 56* to 2' to save par. All in all a very good 9 holes.
