Yuck! Terrible round. Played with Keith and a father/son twosome from Westport, Dan and Peter. Peter was a freshman in high school, on the golf team. Hit it easily 280 to 300 with a beautiful little draw. It was so sweet to watch. Best part of the day. My game sucked, right across the board. Though every ball off the tee was "playable," that might not be the best description for many of them. Only hit about 50% of fairways. My trusty chipping wasn't so trusty, and my putting was atrocious. I don't remember the last time my putting average was over 2 for a round. Not a single one-putt all day. 7 3-putts. SEVEN! Greens were extremely fast and had me psyched out all day. Couldn't buy a putt. My game has been going backward the last week or so. Have lost confidence.
DougEly says:I pray that you are correct about the confidence issue, because it has recently taken me from a decent golfer to playing like a high handicapper. It is very frustrating when you know you are so much better than you are displaying. I'm not great, by any means, but I ain't THIS bad.
