Was told by the surgeon I probably shouldn't play before the surgery so I don't make things any worse. However, the pain wasn't as bad as it has been, and it has been 10 days since my last time on a course so I decided I'd try it. Only played 9, though I wanted to go further. Just thought I was pushing the shoulder more than I should.
Extremely windy. Gusting over 30 knots. Needed 2 extra clubs into the wind, especially since I tried not to overswing and tax the shoulder. Hit the ball well all day. Only one truly poor shot on 6i drive on the par 3 2nd. Hit it fat into the long fescue in front of the tee. Hacked it out with a 52 degree wedge, then got it up and down with a decent chip and 10 foot putt. Hit driver straight all day. Hit irons well too. Even had great backspin on my approaches. Backed up one shot about 15'. We'll see how the shoulders feel tomorrow. Maybe try another 9?
