Gorgeous afternoon. Near 80*. A bit windy to start. Played with Ben, Keith and Billy. First time playing this course. Enjoyed it. Played fairly well. Ground conditions were quite hard, but I like it that way. A couple miscues, but for the most part had a good day. Figured the greens out after a couple holes and putted okay. Made a few nice up & downs. Saved bogey with U&D on 13 after hitting a really poor drive, almost off the hosel, into a bunch of trees on left, about 100 yards off tee. Embarrassing, but took the challenge and punched it out with a 5 iron. Then caught a branch on the right side of fairway with 5 iron approach and came up short. Pretty good chipitch and one putt to save bogey. Had a nice bird on 10 after a good drive and decent 9i approach which got me on, but 30 feet short/right. Made the uphill putt, dead center. Best putt of day, though made a few other good ones as well. Made par on all four par 5s today. Only two doubles and both were partially the result of penalties. Hooked my 3 hybrid off the tee OB on 12. Took stroke and distance from tee, then got there and in in 4, for a 6. Also, on 7, hit drive into water on right with the help of a left to right wind. Penalty drop. Then hit approach wide right of green and bunker. Flopped a 60* wedge over bunker but missed the bogey saving putt and took double. Oh well. Good day overall.
