Stopped at Grassy at 4:30 since I knew there were leagues at home course. Was going to play 18, but ran into the back of a scramble outing on back with a bunch of drunks playing in fivesomes, so decided to quit after 11 holes. Went up to Oxford Greens afterwards to hit balls but the range was closed early. So Just chipped for an hour.
Started cold, with no warm up. Sliced the tee ball into trees. Was able to punch out, but not to a very great spot. Ended up taking 4 to get to green, but made a nice 1-putt to save bogey. The greens were awesome here. True rolls. Made lots of putts. Was never in danger of 3-putting. Loved the greens, more than my home course. Actually felt like I had a chance standing over every putt.
Good drive on 2nd, but wide with approach. More trees to play out of. Double. Things got better after that, though driver was off and on. A few good ones. A few not so good drives. Hit perfect draw on par 5 9th. Layed up short of bunkers on second shot with 5 iron, then hit 52* to about 12 feet. Made birdie putt. Center of cup. Loved these greens. I want them in Oxford.
Wish I could have played 18. Was starting to gain confidence.
