Knew it would be busy at Oxford Greens so figured I'd play a quick 18 closer to work. Played the blues since I have been hitting the ball pretty well of late, but for some reason today, I did not have the same accurate drive I had yesterday. Didn't feel like I was doing anything differently than yesterday, but was getting a lot of leakage. Only hit 2 or 3 really good drives with driver and a couple more with 3W. This course was in good shape, but the rough is really penal. Extremely thick. Hit my approach on 4 from well over on the 5th fairway to just in front of green, yet when I got right up to where I knew it was, it took me a minute to find it the rough was so thick. Nice 5i on 6 off the tee left me with 8 ft. sidehill birdie putt. Missed by a hair and it rolled 6' down slope below hole. Made that putt for par. Best shot of day was 5i off tee on 17 to 6 feet. Foursome on 18th tee thought it was going in for ace. Holed birdie putt with foursome on 18 waiting to see if I would make it. Pressure. Was disappointed in my driver today after such a totally in control round with it yesterday. Put me in some poor positions today which made it difficult to score. Too many bogeys as a result. No doubles is what saved the round.
DougEly says:Pin was back on 17. Bunker on 1 is almost finished. New sand already in it, but outside edges still being newly sodded. The tougher par 3 green at Grassy is the 6th. If memory serves, I think you played it well. I'll have to go back in your scores to see for sure.
