About 34 degrees when I started, warming to around 37 degrees. A bit of sun but mostly overcast and gray. The saving element was the wind was only about 5 mph.
I fully expected the course to be rock hard/frozen with snow on some greens, etc ... I got a pleasant surprise; there was no snow except on the north facing areas of bunkers and near tree shaded areas. The ground was soft enough to allow a shallow divot and the greens, after starting out rock hard, softened enough to actually allow me to hit the green and stay on. Pace of the green was decent, another surprise.
I played decently. While my drives were not always on the sweet spot, I was straight. My iron/hybrid play was acceptable as were the wedges. Toured the Woodlands 9 first with no one in front of me. Made the turn on to the Hills and ran into threesome who asked if I wanted to play through on #3 (par 3). I smacked an arrow on to the green, made a routine 2-putt and they never saw me again. Felt good.
Played the "White" tee on the 600+ yard par 5 on the Woodlands (#6). The "Blue" tee was a sheet of ice and I didn't want to mess with it.
