Cool, maybe 70 degrees, and rainy. There was a steady rain from the start (#15) until maybe the last 2 holes. A slight breeze.
I was in full rain gear (jacket, pants, rain gloves, umbrella, etc ...) Comfortable except my shoes leaked and I spent the round squishing around in shoes full of water. Next time I may try one rain glove on the left hand since my grip felt odd with 2 gloves. The rain gloves definitely work as I never felt like the club was slipping.
For the most part, with a couple exceptions, I kept my tee ball in play and my short game was okay. 4-putted the opening hole from 15 feet - first short, second lipped out and third was a too casual effort from 2 feet that never touched the hole - lesson re-learned to treat every putt seriously.
Tied for 8th out of 82 on a gross basis, however, my effort got me 2nd place in the "A" flight's net competition. I was really shocked as 85 was a pretty marginal performance but apparently these old guys are afraid of melting. Thank you very much for the "gift" of the $80 2nd place prize.
