85 degrees, about a 5 mph breeze and sunny. Perfect day.
I hit a bunch of balls at the range and decided to wedge in nine holes before dinner. Apparently they lost their irrigation pump and the course was in unusal condition. The first three greens are essentially dead - flat smooth straw and dirt with lightning speeds. The balance of the greens are a bite shaggy. The rough rivals a US Open course. They are not cutting it to try to keep it healthy - and it is. On the three driving holes where I found the rough I was forced to gouge it out and hope it rolled close to the green. Not the type of condition one expects to find at the "Beginners Course" in town.
