The 502 irons are precision forged of soft S20C Japanese steel and carry the desired hardness rating of HRB80 which means its uber soft and rewarding at impact. Eventually Epon plans to phase out the 501 model for this new 502. The 502 has a face made of a high COR super spring steel material that provides loads of rebound giving maxium distance like their 701 model irons. Epon also implemented a new Alpha Gel into the 502's hollow body which makes each loft feel much softer at impact.
