Lately I’ve been running out of space on my laptop way too often. I work with design files, and some of them are huge, so downloading stuff from one Dropbox account just to upload it into another is starting to feel pointless. Half the time I delete things right after the transfer just to recover storage. I’m hoping there’s a way to move everything directly between accounts without dumping gigabytes onto my local drive first. Anyone found a setup that avoids that whole cycle?
toxatyt - 12/4/25 I’ve been cleaning up my own devices recently, and it’s wild how quickly storage disappears when you’re constantly handling cloud files. Anything that keeps the workflow online rather than dragging data onto the machine makes a noticeable difference. Once the clutter is gone and everything stays in the cloud, it feels like the system runs smoother overall, and switching between tasks doesn’t get slowed down by those sudden “disk full” warnings.

When I searched for a way to transfer files from one dropbox account to another https://mac.eltima.com/transfer-files-between-2-dropbox-accounts/ without touching local storage. It let me connect both accounts and move things directly between them. For large folders, it saves a ton of space and time — no temporary downloads, no unnecessary syncing.
