The decision to build a golf course, on the land of Quinta de Benamor, was made in 1986; the late Sir Henry Cotton's design from that time finally opened in the spring of 2000.

This par-71 golf course offers views of the mountains to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. Many olive, cork, carob, fig, and almond trees line the fairways. The only major problem is that several power/utility lines cross many of the tees and fairways.

Practice facilities include a separate putting course, along with a practice range and putting green.
