This might be the only golf course in the world where the water hazards contain a very hazardous hazard: Bull sharks.

The sharks are the result of the flooding of the nearby Albert and Logan rivers during the 1990s; they were apparently swept across the course during the flooding and wound up the lake adjacent to the 15th hole. Not surprisingly, the course now hosts a monthly tournament called the "Shark Lake Challenge."

Visitors are welcome on Sundays through Fridays, but advance booking by phone is essential. The standard walking rates are A$30 on weekdays, then A$38 on weekends (carts are A$36 on weekdays, A$38 on weekends). Guest-of-member rates are available, as are memberships.

Very friendly course with an interesting layout. Course maintenance is good, but the greens (while undulating) take virtually no break. The greens are fast, but you hit nearly every putt straight at the hole, regardless of the slope. It takes a little bit of fun away from putting!
