One of oldest golf clubs in South Africa, this traditional layout runs over hills, dunes, and coastal indigenous bush, so it features a bit of links flavor amongst the largely parkland terrain. The course is home to a family of Knysna Loerie and other species of bird life.

ELGC has hosted the SA Open six times and is a regular home for national and regional championships, seniors, and nomads tournaments.
