This was the first public course in Puerto Rico (ca. 1940) and was a favorite of President Eisenhower. Located on a cliff-side promontory, Punta Borinquen offers picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean, sometimes including whales jumping in and out of the water. The straight fairways are protected mainly by westerly cross-winds and bunkers, while a special species of palm only found in the west Puerto Rico line the fairways.
