Long slog even with a buggy (90 degree rule is a pain). Wouldn't want to play here on a regular basis

booked a weekend here 20/03/20. was told everything would be open, Including all resort facilities(just before lockdown Covid 19 ). travelling from Glasgow. however played the Roman course- very muddy and even lost balls on fairways course should have been closed. Montgomerie course was in same state. 2010 course was bad but playable just. All facilities then closed saturday so we had to check out a day early what a Birthday treat..........

Greens in poor condition following recent maintenance. Considering the wet weather in previous days, the course was in good condition. A true test of golf, especially with the wind! Would like to return to play the 2010 course in the summer and see the course in all its glory.

Staff were very friendly, food was excellent. I enjoyed the layout of the course, personally found the greens far too slow...as was the pace of play, nearly 5 and a half hours for a four ball...

Superb place to play golf, you need a buggie on the Montgomery course as it is very very hilly...

Played the Montgomerie course, greens tined and a lot of mud around the greens. The need to use a buggy makes it hard work when you don't know the course ( even with sky caddie) Scenery is good and layout also excellent but it needs more work to be rated as highly as it's reputation

played both Montgomery and 2010, and found both to a similar standard. Treated like a superstar on the 2010. To use the lockers that were used by the Ryder Cup team was special. Water on the 2010 makes it tough... take lots of balls!
Great courses, super hotel.

This is best played of the back Tees. The yellow visitor tees are a waste of time as the course becomes way too short!

Great track, similar to East Sussex National for quality of course. Greens were fantastic. Cost of the round needs to be balanced better. Would play there again though. Par 5 2nd is a brute

THE 2010 COURSE Not worth the green fee charge, there are much better courses out there, FOR HALF THE PRICE, DO EXPECT A 5 Hour round even with buggies ! You have been warned.

very wet and turf lifted on fairways on a few holes. long walks tee to green but got around in 4 hours. nice scenery but we did pick the wrong day to play with fog and very poor visibility, it would be a different course in the dry.

Really looked forward to playing the 2010 course but got really annoyed with use of buggy which was recommended but you had to follow buggy path at all times. As a result the round was in excess of 5 hours so if played again would walk.
One good result was winning the Par 3 challenge so will go back to play the Roman Road or Montgomerie course.

Played Montgomerie & Roman Roadthe walk on monty was no where as bad as people make out.some long horriable walks to some tees and awkward cause we had powakaddy and had to hang on to them down some of the path.my friends had buggie and was a waste of time had to stick to paths so longwalks to there ball. greens were alot better on the roman but nicer looking holes on monty.

Cracking coarse, played twice, one sunny and calm and another when it was very windy but enjoyed both days as the coarse is well looked after and is a must for anyone, when its windy take a few extra balls as the water draws them in

played 2010 and roman road. both excellent. hospitality is like nothing else ive had. picked up dropped off, clubs cleaned etc. i had westwoods locker! 2010 was very very wet though. loads of plugged balls. didnt spoil the scenery and made me want to play again- on a dry week.

Played the 2010 course in December and to be honest, the course was soaked - that said, the tees greens and fairways were in good order. Any ball off the fairway was lost in the mud, so hitting the fairways was crucial. All 18 holes were memorable and the back nine was spectacular, Going back in the summer for sure!

A very smug and rude course marshall nearly ruined what has to be the best course I have ever played. Outstanding. Every hole takes some thought from tee to green and greens were good too. Definately would go back

Played Montgomerie & Roman Road, both in excellent condition despite heavy rain over the previous few days. Monty very hilly with a very good variety of holes, but the terrain and some very long walks between holes mean a buggy is a must. The Roman Road just a little easier on the legs and a little less interesting but never the less a good challenge. Be warned expect to be out there for arounf 5 hours on both courses.

Fantastic course, great lay out. (shame I stayed up till 4am drinking)
Green staff need a BIG pat on the back, not a weed in sight. No Clover or dandelions to be seen anywhere, well done lads.
4 hours 33mins for 18 holes OMG

Played all 3 courses over 3 days buggy required for monty as very hilly walked other 2,
Monty - tight course with some great holes greens run true enjoyed playing it but front 9 bit slow till helpful Marshal had a word and we got through after that it was great,
2010 - amazing, looked after from start to finish, facilities second to none, long course with lots of bunkers but pleasure to play even if it did kick my ass big style, makes you realise how good the pros really are.
Roman Road - again great course, greens fast and true but you need to study the line I failed the exam!
overall treated like royalty from dropping off bags till leaving for home a must visit true gem.

twenty ten is a must!a true test of golf. Roman Road should also be played as has some nice holes and in good comdition. Leave montgomerie out unless you are a mountaneer!ridiculous changes in elevation and tough to play with or without a buggy! Walk the 2010 & roman road as buggies are not allowed on the fairways hence long rounds!!!!!

The Twenty Ten course is a must play for anyone who wants to be treated to one of the most luxurious rounds in the UK. From the drop off at the club to the 19th it is 5 star golf all the way. Lots of memorable holes and the water comes into play on many holes so be prepared for at least one dip!

Montgomerie has some good holes but clearly manufactured out of parts of 2 old courses. Roman Road was very enjoyable with some tricky holes. Celtic Manor resort is excellent but be prepared for very long rounds.
