This private club opened with nine holes on Feburary 18, 1923 and was named for Sir Edmond Stockdale, who was married to a relative of one of the club's founders. Original architecture credit goes to Lloyd P. Tevis, son of one of the original owners. Three sets of tees stretch the course from 5,828 to 6,397 yards.
